Patient Responsibilities—What DVM Expects of You
- Take your life-saving treatment seriously. Keep your appointments with DVM staff. Attend maintenance/detox services daily
- Be responsible. If you self-pay for treatment, you need to pay all weekly fees on your scheduled day as part of your treatment plan and goals.
- Treat yourself, your fellow patients, and DVM staff with respect. Verbal and physical abuse of other patients and staff members can result in immediate discharge.
- No weapons, illicit drugs, or alcohol will be tolerated.
- No smoking.
- Shoes and shirts are required in the treatment center.
- No loitering at DVM or on the streets near the building or surrounding property.
If you don’t follow program rules, you may be terminated from the program.
Your counselor will tell you if you are not following program rules and guidelines. You will receive a formal letter if you are terminated for any of the following reasons:
- You are a danger to yourself, other patients, or staff.
- You have not been in contact with the clinic for three or more days.
- You repeatedly fail to work toward treatment goals.
If you are administratively discharged, you will be detoxified from the program and/or referred to another program for continued treatment.
